Congratulations to the U10 Boston Americans on winning the MA State Championship!
The U10 Americans competed in the State tournament over the weekend of 3/10-3/13/22 for the first time in program history.
The first game was against the Bay State Breakers in which the Americans won 2-1 in overtime. Game two was against Assabet Valley. The Americans scored four goals in the second period and won by a final of 4-2. With a 2-0 record, the final game of the preliminary round was against the East Coast Wizards. After scoring in the 2nd and 3rd periods, the Americans won the game 2-0. The team carried the #1 seed in the National division and faced the Boston Jr. Eagles in the semi-finals.
The Americans dominated the game and went on to win 4-0 to advance to the championship against the East Coast Wizards.
In the finals, the Wizards scored first to go up 1-0 early in the first period. The Americans fought back scoring two unanswered goals to take a 2-1 lead. The game went back and forth with the Americans scoring in the final minute to tie the game at 3 and force overtime. Overtime did not last long as the Americans capitalized on a turnover in the offensive zone and scored to win the game.
